About the Faculty
History
Bu-Ali Sina University was established in November 1973 after obtaining license from the Expansion Council of Higher Education and admitted the first group of M.A students in the field of Teaching Chemistry in 1976.
After the success of Islamic Revolution in February 1979 and transformation of strategic policies in higher education, the activities of the University were followed by admission of B.A students in the subfields of Pure Chemistry, Applied Chemistry and Teaching Chemistry. In 1990 and 1997, admission of MA and PhD students started respectively in the subfields of Organic Chemistry, Physical Chemistry, Inorganic Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, and Applied Chemistry. In 2011, admission of PhD students started in the subfield of Electrochemistry.
After the qualitative and quantitative development of the work force and research and education equipment, the department of Chemistry was promoted to the Faculty of Chemistry in June 2006 and currently 26 faculty members cooperate with the faculty in various subfields (18 professors, 5 associate professors, 1 assistant professor, and 2 lecturer). This faculty is equipped with all of the educational laboratories at B.A level and also research laboratories (organic, inorganic, applied, analytical, and physical chemistry) at M.A and PhD. level, as well as machinery equipment. Annually 500 BA students, 250 MA students and 150 PhD students pursue their studies in this faculty.
